The Global Snapshot
Scuba divers and snorkellers are recording sightings of key indicator species and evidence of pressures on the marine environment (such as pollution and overfishing) that have been created by human (anthropogenic) activity.

This valuable data is creating a unique and evolving 'Global Snapshot' of our oceans. Marine scientists from all over the world selected the earthdive indicator species, the anthropogenic pressures and the 30 eco-regions in which they can be sighted. Select an earthdive eco-region from the drop-down box below and then click GO. Then click on any species to reveal more information.
